Hey Gang,
This one is for all you drummers out there. I have used various pedals throughout my "career" as a drummer. I always seem to have to ghetto-rig them at some point though. One very common problem I have is when I am playing and my beater simply flies off the pedal while playing. So I have to stop and fix the damn thing and continue with the song. I really don't feel like putting loc-tite on the screws that hold in the beater, so does anyone have any advice as to what I can do to make sure this doesn't happen.

What kind of pedal is it?
You really do get what you pay for with drum hardware.
I had a tama pedal. piece of shit but then i got the standard pearl pedal and i've had no issues.

I would suggest looking into pearl pedals, for the money you really can't go wrong and they're reliable as all hell.

DW Series 5000 pedal rules. My buddy has the double kick version and has been using for 10+ years with no problems and loves the thing!
